I bet you all have seen your favorite Nutrition Coach Martine (me) sporting her newest accessory – a fancy fanny pack! What makes it so great? It’s another place for me to pack all my snacks.
Being prepared with snacks sets me up for success. I do my best to set aside the time to plan and pack my snacks. By having snacks easily accessible, I am able to make better choices for the day. I prevent myself from getting hangry if I have a larger than usual gap between meals. By having my own snacks, I’m less tempted to buy something on the go. I spend less $ by limiting impulsive food purchases. I know my snacks are a healthier option compared to something on the go. Win-win.

RX Bars: These are very nutrient-dense and a great balanced snack (has all three macros!). Personally, I split them and save half for the next day.
Applesauce: Love to have this as a pre- or post-workout snack. It’s a fast-absorbing carb so it won’t feel too much like a brick in your stomach mid-WOD. It’s also a perfect option to have before a really early morning WOD.
Sliced seasonal vegetables: For summer, I LOVE having cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes on the go. Plain or lightly dressed with some lemon, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Another great way to get in those servings of vegetables!
Fresh fruit: Summertime is THE best for fruit. You have berries, cherries, peaches, plums, melons. Enough said.
